St. Petersburg's waterfront played a pivotal role in the city's development, as the civic visionaries transformed a working waterfront into one of the country's largest waterfront park systems. They built it, and the people came, bringing with them baseball's first training field, the world's first airline, and the 'Burg's historic fountain of youth, making St. Petersburg a tropical destination that attracted tourists, retirees and families alike. Your guide on this historical walk will be Maria Erickson. Come early and take a stroll through the Saturday Morning Market. It opens at 9 am and you can find a wide selections of bakery treats & coffee to get you revved-up for your walk.
